Make a Real Impact.

Thanks for your interest in the upcoming anti-viral study that we’ll soon be conducting here at Pinnacle Research Group.

This page will walk you through some of the questions that you might have.

What is this study about?

This study is what’s sometimes known as a drug-to-drug interaction study. The goal is to determine how the investigational drug that’s being looked at in this study will interact with existing medications that are currently on the market and already FDA approved.

Essentially what the researchers will be looking at is what happens when certain medications are taken by themselves, compared to what happens when they are taken together.

In order to be able to measure and monitor that, the study team will collect blood samples at different times throughout the day to evaluate medication levels in your bloodstream.

Who Qualifies to Participate?

The fact that this isn’t a treatment study impacts who we are looking for as participants. Instead of sick volunteers, we are looking for very healthy participants.

For the purposes of this study, here’s a general profile of what an ideal participant would look like:

Study participation

The study is scheduled to begin on the evening of Sunday, June 7, 2026 and will run through Thursday, July 2, 2026. In addition to those days, there will be an in-person screening visit that will take place a couple weeks prior to the study’s start date. There will also be an in-person follow up visit that will take place a couple weeks after the active participation portion of the study wraps up.

Participating in this study will involve 14 study visits over the course of 26 days (not including the initial screening visit or the follow up visit after the study wraps up.) We always like to make sure that everyone is aware that the study will also involve spending eight nights in our clinical research facility in Anniston, AL.

To help you visualize what participation will involve, It might be helpful to think of it this way: During the month of June you will spend every Sunday and Monday night at our research site here in Anniston, AL. And in addition to those in-clinic stays, you will also have outpatient study visits each Wednesday and Thursday following the inpatient stays.

Basically you will check in each Sunday evening and spend that night in our clinic. You’ll spend the full day and night with us on Monday. You will then check out the next morning (Tuesday) each week. You will then come back in for outpatient visits the following Wednesday and Thursday. The outpatient study visits will last approx 2 hours each.

We've created a graphic below that will help you visualize what participation could look like. It also reflects what your compensation would be for each portion of study participation. (Green reflects inpatient participation, blue depicts outpatient participation)

What will life be like during the in-clinic portion of the study?

Our goal is to make your stay with us as comfortable, homey and safe as possible. Past and current participants tell us that they genuinely enjoy their time spent with our facility and our staff.

You will be going through this study with several other participants who check in and check out at the same time you will each week.

In most cases you will be sharing a room with at least one other participant of your gender. Each room will have its own TV, bathroom, WiFi and shower.

All of the free meals you’ll enjoy during your time with us are prepared fresh on site by our resident chefs.

Members of our seasoned, friendly medical staff will be available around the clock throughout your time with us.

What if I don’t qualify for this study?

Each study has its own set of inclusionary and exclusionary factors. That means that not all volunteers are a perfect fit for every trial. But you’ll sometimes find that the very factors that exempted you from one study, might just be the exact factors that the next study is looking for. So if you don’t happen to qualify for this particular study, we’d love to see if we can match you with one of our upcoming or ongoing research trials.

We’re a multi-specialty research site so we conduct trials focusing on a wide range of conditions and indications.
