Could Your High Cholesterol Be a Match for an Upcoming Study?

If you’ve been told your cholesterol is high, especially your LDL, or “bad” cholesterol, you may be a good fit for a study we’ll be conducting here at Pinnacle Research Group.

This page will walk you through what the study involves, who we’re looking for, and how compensation works.

What is this study about?

This study is looking at a cholesterol-lowering medication that’s already approved and available on the market, but it’s being studied here on a different dosing schedule than what’s typically used.

Right now, this type of medication is usually given every couple of weeks or once a month. In this study, researchers want to find out what happens when it’s given more often, specifically once a week for most participants. They’re hoping to learn whether a more frequent schedule works just as well, or even better, for lowering cholesterol, and how safe it is when given that way.

The medication is given as a quick injection just under the skin, similar to how you might picture an insulin shot. It’s given right here in our clinic by a member of our medical staff, usually in the stomach, thigh, or upper arm. There’s no need to give yourself any injections at home.

One thing that’s important to know is that everyone who takes part in this study will receive the actual medication. There’s no placebo group, so you won’t need to wonder whether you’re getting “the real thing” or not.
