Are You More Vulnerable to Flu Complications?
We’re conducting a clinical research study focused on flu prevention for people who may be at higher risk, including older adults and those with certain chronic or immune-related health conditions.
What is this study about?
This study is looking at an investigational medication that’s being studied to see if it may help prevent symptomatic influenza, commonly known as the flu, in people who are at higher risk of developing flu-related complications.
Researchers are looking to compare a new investigational medication to placebo to better understand whether it may help reduce the chances of getting a confirmed case of the flu during flu season.
The study medication is given as a single dose by injection at the beginning of participation, and then the study team follows participants over time to monitor for flu-like symptoms, health changes, and any safety-related information.
Because this is a double-blind research study, neither you nor the study staff will know whether you received the investigational medication or placebo during the study.
Who Qualifies to Participate?
For this study, we are looking for people who may be at higher risk of developing complications from the flu.
You may be a good fit for this study if you:
Study participation
Participation in this study lasts several months.
A helpful way to think about the regular study schedule is this:
If you develop symptoms that could be related to the flu or another respiratory infection, the study may require additional visits. During those visits, the study team may collect nasal swabs, check your temperature, review your symptoms, and perform other study-related assessments.
Before the study begins, our team will walk you through each step of participation so that you understand what is expected before you decide whether to take part.
